The Art of Diana Stewart

While some artisans dabble in jewelry making, Diana Stewart has dedicated her adult life to it. This classically trained metal smith and graduate gemologist applies her expertise and creative flair to the design and crafting of finely made jewelry, never tiring of mixing color, texture, shape and materials to arrive at a singular solution.
“I love stones, their unusual origins, varied colors and metaphysical properties,” Diana explains. Her enthusiasm for her work is infectious and it brings clients back time and time again to visit her booth at the full schedule of The Vineyard Artisans Festivals in West Tisbury and at Night Heron Gallery at 58 Main Street in downtown Vineyard Haven.
This Stamford, CT, native has made her home on the Island for the past 25 years, having trained in New York City and Santa Monica, CA. Known for her eye for color as well as for her meticulous craftsmanship, Diana finds her inspiration in off-season travels around the world and in the beauty of the environment right outside her Vineyard Haven door. Available for custom work, her signature pieces include a contemporary Roman shield line as well as her seashell and seaweed collections, made using a lost wax casting process.
