Designing and redesigning as she assembles the fabrics on muslin, Jeanne resists the idea of mass-producing her work. People bring her fabrics, from old draperies to extravagantly priced decorator samples. Between her own finds and donations from friends, Jeanne says she has more than enough fabric to make pillows for as long as her passion lasts.
Aside from being The Pillow Lady of Martha’s Vineyard, Jeanne Hewett has earned a reputation as a consummate fabric artist, with her work in many private collections, including the (Clinton) White House.
